We take CSR seriously at AdHoc Translations
Our approach to CSR reflects that we are a company that provides linguistic services that primarily involve human resources. Accordingly, our focus is on the values and initiatives that matter to our employees, suppliers, customers and the society we are part of. Of course, that doesn’t mean that we do not also pursue initiatives that benefit the environment, and in general, we strive to live up to our corporate social responsibility and support positive, sustainable initiatives wherever we can.
At AdHoc Translations, we strive to have an organisation that is reflective of our society, which is why we attach great importance to building a diverse staff comprised of different cultures, genders, ages and views. We believe that all of us benefit from diversity in the workplace and that it ultimately leads to the best results. We also live up to our social and societal responsibility by taking on student helpers, interns, etc.
Our aim is for our employees to be happy coming to work and to take pride in working for AdHoc Translations. Among other things, this requires that everyone respects each other on a personal and professional level, which strengthens teamwork and contributes to a pleasant working environment. We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying or harassment.
Communication should be free and open so that everyone feels that they can safely express their views and opinions. We believe this results in development and growth, benefiting individual employees as well as the company as a whole.
We attach importance to employee development and making sure our employees feel motivated, which is why we offer training and courses in relevant and work-related fields. We also train our employees in how they can implement and act in accordance with the company’s CSR approach and policy. Additionally, have a focus on our employees’ health and well-being, which is why one of our employee benefits includes private health insurance.
Furthermore, we support initiatives that strengthen the social working environment to foster camaraderie and a friendly atmosphere. We donate money to our staff association and participate in runs such as the DHL Relay Race as well as other activities. We also provide complementary fruit and coffee/tea in the office and have a communal breakfast on Fridays.
AdHoc Translations is a business that revolves around our clients, which is why we do everything we can to offer the best service to all our clients, no matter the size of their business or assignment. We strive to build a close partnership based on trust, and we offer our clients a variety of technological solutions to further build on our partnership and make it even simpler for our clients to handle their language-related assignments. These solutions also help make our working processes as paperless as possible.
Our business model is based on transparency, honesty and ensuring our clients get the information and guidance they need to make the best decisions for their business. We believe this creates the best results for everyone.
AdHoc Translations takes its professional responsibility seriously, which is why we guarantee our clients that we comply with applicable laws and regulations in the markets in which we do business. This also means that we always process our clients’ data in accordance with the current general data protection regulation and handle all our clients’ assignments with full confidentiality.
Our aim is to do business ethically, and we accordingly have a zero-tolerance policy for bribes or gifts that can cast doubts on our integrity.
We respect our suppliers and partners, and we also require them to comply with applicable laws and demonstrate an ethical and social responsibility as well as comply with human rights conventions.
We expect and require our suppliers to meet certain standards to ensure that we live up to our social responsibility. Among other things, we ensure that all our suppliers sign confidentiality agreements and work in accordance with our standards.
AdHoc Translations strives to demonstrate social responsibility, which is why we help fund charitable causes within our industry as well as in other areas.
Among other things, we provide funding to the international organisation Translators Without Borders, a non-profit charity that offers language-related assistance to people in need in connection with humanitarian disasters around the world.
We also support other causes and associations that focus on people. We sponsor the Danish Multiple Sclerosis Society’s cycling team (Cykelnerven), and in 2017 our Christmas present to our clients entailed making a donation on their behalf to a charity that helps ensure that socially marginalised children would also have a merry Christmas with presents and a Christmas dinner.
Our company is invested in the world we live in, and our aim is to take every positive measure we can to contribute to a better environment.
This includes sorting our waste, recycling paper, installing sensors on our office lighting and ensuring our website is carbon-neutral, which is part of a larger initiative where companies join forces to neutralise the carbon footprint of their websites. We neutralise our carbon footprint by building new sustainable energy sources and participating in carbon-reducing projects.
A good working environment includes a healthy indoor climate. We strive to create a healthy indoor climate by having a large number of indoor plants in our offices.
Our employees also strive to reduce our carbon footprint, for instance by participating in the Danish competition “vi cykler på arbejde” (“we bike to work”) each year.
