Facts about Finnish
Together with Swedish, Finnish is the official language in Finland. Out of a total population of 5.5 million, Finnish is spoken as the native language by 4.9 million Finns. Furthermore, it is spoken as a minority language in Sweden and by a minority in the Republic of Karelia in Russia.
Just as Estonian, Sami and Hungarian, Finnish belongs to the Uralian family of languages, which is very different from the other Nordic (North German) languages in terms of syntax and vocabulary. However, semantically and conceptually it has a lot of similarities with Swedish.

Why translate to or from Finnish?
If you want to make sure that your clients understand what your are saying, you should ‘speak’ their language. A key competitive parameter is thus to translate your communication into the relevant language.
In fact, several studies have shown that the best way for a business to increase its conversion rate and thus its sales is by having its website translated into the languages of its visitors.
Why choose a professional translator?
A professional Finnish translator has completed a linguistic programme at MA level and specialises in a specific industry or a specific area so that you can be certain that the right terminology and phrases are used.
When you opt for a professional translator, you get a native-language translator who is familiar with all the nuances of his or her language and who is able to take any cultural differences into account. You will therefore not be able to see that it is a translation.
What are our requirements for a professional translator?
We set high standards for their education and require that they have several years of translation experience. All translators are regularly tested to ensure that the quality of their work remains high.
As one of the few businesses in the industry, we still have a team of in-house translators, meaning that we always have a specialist at hand.
We also have a large network of external translators; all carefully selected and quality-tested within the specific areas they are translating.
Our motivation is satisfied clients and that is why we always deliver top quality.
How do we select the right translator?
AdHoc Translations chooses the translator who knows your industry and who knows the specific text type.
If you need translation of various text types from legal documents to technical manuals, we will organise a team that matches your need.
