hassle-free translation of website texts
Ordrestyring.dk installed a WPML plugin for their WordPress website which has made it simple and quick to export texts for translation and import them in the new languages. An otherwise daunting and time-consuming task has become easy and manageable.
Ordrestyring.dk is a simple task management system for tradesmen that streamlines their business by digitising and reducing their administrative work.
Since its establishment in 2011, the customer portfolio has grown exponentially, and today, Ordrestyring.dk is a market leader with more than 14,000 daily users and is used by electricians, plumbers, painters, carpenters, joiners, locksmiths, landscape gardeners and contractors.
In the summer of 2018, history was made when the company was acquired by Swedish private equity fund Adelis Equity Partners. The new ownership boosted Ordrestyring’s international ambitions – which meant that they needed translation.
Ordrestyring.dk needed their website translated from Danish into English, and they wanted to find a solution for handling this in the best possible way.
The website had been changed with new and updated content on an ongoing basis, and although the website had previously been translated into English, the company no longer knew exactly what had been translated and what had not. Moreover, the translations were not always the best, and Ordrestyring.dk therefore decided that they send all the texts for translation again.
Previously, this had been done manually by copy-pasting the text. But since then, the size of the website had increased significantly with numerous subpages, and if the export and import of the text had to be handled manually, it would be way too time-consuming. Therefore, Ordrestyring.dk wanted to find an agency that could also help find an affordable solution for handling the import/export in the best possible way.
Charlotte from Ordrestyring.dk contacted AdHoc Translation to ask if they could provide a solution. Torben from AdHoc Translations thoroughly discussed the possibilities with Charlotte, and together with the technology manager at AdHoc Translations, they came up with a very user-friendly and affordable solution that suited Ordrestyring’s needs.
The solution was to install a plugin for their WordPress website, called WMPL. AdHoc Translations helped with all the technical aspects of making the solution run smoothly. This allowed Charlotte from Ordrestyring.dk to easily and seamlessly export all texts that had to be translated into Norwegian and English. Once the files had been translated, all files were re-imported, and in a jiffy, the website was in English. As Charlotte from Ordrestyring.dk says, the solution has turned an otherwise daunting task into an easy and quick process that does not require much technical skill.
In future, it will be easy to send new texts for translation to ensure that the website is always fully updated in all languages.
Statement from Charlotte about the cooperation:
“It has been a pleasure working with AdHoc Translations. Right from the start, they have been accommodating and quick to deliver quality work. I give them my highest recommendation!”
