This is how OnRobot had their technical documentation translated – and prepared for new markets

About OnRobot

OnRobot is a Danish robotics company producing Plug & Play ‘grippers’ for robot arms.

The product can be placed directly on the robot arm and works as a sort of hand that makes the arm more flexible, which enables you to use it for more operations.

The installation is simple and only requires basic programming, eliminating the need for engineers to do the job.

OnRobot are experiencing strong growth and demand for their grippers, and both the ambitions and the potential of this young Danish company are huge.

The job

The robotics company OnRobot needed their technical documentation translated into all the languages spoken in the markets they were entering. To match the success and growth they were seeing with their ‘grippers’ for robot arms, the texts had to be of extremely high quality and use the correct language for the industry.

That is a challenging job which places high demands on the translator’s knowledge of the sector and their understanding of terms specific to the industry.

The solution

OnRobot chose AdHoc Translations for three reasons:

  1. We are familiar with the industry and translate for other robotics companies.
  2. We have a fixed team of specialised translators, who know the specific terminology used within robotics.
  3. Our intelligent translation tool makes the process manageable for OnRobot and ensures that terminology and translation memory are organised.

At OnRobot, they knew that the task would cause a massive increase in their translation budget. But as Cezara Belciu of OnRobot says:

”Translating our technical documentation is definitely an expenditure that we cannot afford to do without if we want to reach our ambitious goals”.

The result

OnRobot had their technical documentation translated and are ready to conquer new markets all over the world.

OnRobot highlight two key features about working with AdHoc Translations: the good personal relationships and the high level of service.

”We have no doubt that we are in good hands, and that makes us feel very comfortable”, says Cezara Belciu.

Thank you for trusting in us, Cezara!
